Manchester United faced a tense encounter midweek but managed to overcome Sheffield United with a 4-2 victory. The Red Devils now boast an unbeaten streak of three matches at home, clinching victory in two.

Burnley has witnessed a resurgence in form, fueling hopes for survival as they inch closer to safety, now only three points adrift. However, their confidence is tempered by their poor away record, having suffered three consecutive defeats at Old Trafford. Despite a recent emphatic win at Bramall Lane, Burnley faces an uphill battle away from home.

Burnley enters the match buoyed by their morale-boosting 4-1 triumph over Sheffield United. Despite historically struggling against Manchester United in the Premier League, Burnley’s last victory over the Red Devils occurred at Old Trafford in January 2020.

The Red Devils will be aiming to make it successive league wins for the first time since the middle of February, and they will then take on Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion in their final four matches of the league season ahead of the final of the FA Cup against Manchester City.

Skipper Bruno Fernandes has been a major attacking threat for United this season.

Manchester United seeks to secure successive league wins for the first time since mid-February. Their home record has been mixed this season, winning nine out of 16 league games but also suffering five defeats. The Red Devils aim to capitalize on Burnley’s vulnerability away from home but must contend with their own injury woes, including the absence of key players like Lisandro Martínez and Raphael Varane.

Burnley have only ever beaten Man United twice in the Premier League, but their last success over the 20-time English champions did come at Old Trafford, running out 2-0 winners in January 2020.

The Red Devils have won five and drawn one of their last six meetings, though, including a 1-0 victory at Turf Moor earlier this season, with Bruno Fernandes hitting the winner against Kompany’s side.

Vincent Kompany’s side have now only lost one of their last seven league games, recording two wins in the process, and they are in with a fighting chance of staying in the division this season.

Manchester United record against Burnley:

Games won: 67
Games drawn: 24
Games lost: 45

Team News:

(As of today 26/04/2024)

Burnley: Aaron RamseyJordan BeyerNathan RedmondAmeen Al-Dakhil and Luca Koleosho remain unavailable for selection this weekend.

Manchester United: Manchester United are still without Lisandro Martínez, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial, and others out injured. However, the return of Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford could bolster United’s lineup.

Prediction:

This is a tough one to predict, as Burnley are not losing many at the moment, and the Clarets are fighting for their lives. It remains to be seen which Man United turn up for this game, but we are predicting a narrow success for the Red Devils, who have enough quality to see off Kompany’s side this weekend.
