EPL: 16 years old Max Dowman was the star of the show as he became the youngest goalscorer in Premier league history. Arsenal labored for 87 minutes to break down a stubborn Everton defense to no avail till Max Dowman stepped up. His wonderful cross set up Swedish striker Viktor Gyokores to score from close range before he rounded Jordan Pickford in the 95th minute to seal the win for the gunners and increase the lead at the top to 9 points as Manchester City slipped up again in the title race after drawing with relegation threatened West Ham at the London stadium. Bernado Silva gave City the lead in the 31st minute before Mavropanos equalized in the 35th minute which was how the game ended. This draw coupled with Arsenal's win increased the gap at the top of the table to 9 points. Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game as Newcastle beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 1-0. Gordon scored in the 18th minute after he tapped in from a Joe Wilcox pass in the Chelsea box. This win comes after an impressive display saw them beat Manchester United with 10 men. Burnley and Bournemouth battled at Turf Moor without any victor and vanquished as both team played out a drab 0-0 draw. The draw sees Bournemouth become undefeated in the last 10 EPL games the longest unbeaten run in the EPL currently.

Yakub Minteh scored the only goal of the game as Brighton went to Stadium of Light and defeated Sunderland 1-0. It was a very close game that saw Sunderland have a goal chalked off for offside by VAR. Manchester United returned to winning ways when they faced Aston Villa at Old Trafford. It was a very cagey first half as chances were far and few in-between. The game cam alive in the 2nd half when Casemiro rose highest to head home Bruno Fernandes corner in the 54th minute. Villa equalized through Ross Barkley who was playing in his first game since January 2025 but united took the lead 7 minutes later when Matheus Cunha ran onto a Bruno Fernandes through ball and calmly slotted past Emiliano Martinezin goal. The assists gave Fernandes his 16th assist, the most of any United player in a single season surpassing David Beckam's record of 15 assists in the 99/00 season. Substitute Benjamin Sesko rounded the scoring off in the 81st minute when he latched onto a loose ball in the Villa box and hit a deflected shot past Martinez. The win sees United remain third, 7 points behind city rivals Manchester United in 2nd place.

Liverpool failed to capitalize on Aston Villla's loss as they drew 1-1 at home to struggling Tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool took the lead in the 1st half via a delightful free kick from Dominik Szobozlai, his 4th free kick goal this season. Liverpool had many chances to double the lead but failed to take their numerous chances and they finally allowed Spurs to equalize in the 90th minute through Richarlison from a Kolo Muani assist. The goal sees Liverpool concede a goal in the 90th minute, their 8th of the season. Crystal Palace played out a 0-0 draw with Leeds United despite Leeds having a player sent off in the 1st half,Palace still failed to register an attempt on target for the game despite having 66% of the possesion. Nottingham Forest also played a boring 0-0 draw against Fulham at The City Ground. Chances were very few with Forest having 2 shots on target and Fulham producing just 1. The result doesn't help Forest's effort to put some distance between them and the relegation pack.

Wolverhampton Wanderers came from 2 goals down to draw against Brentford at the GTech Community Stadium. Brentford took the lead when Micheal Kayode grabbed his first goal for Brentford by heading in Keane Lewis-Potter pinpoint cross. Brazilian striker Igor Thiago celebrated his call up to the Brazilian national team by Carlo Ancelotti by doubling Brentford's lead. Adam Armstrong halved the deficit on the close of half time. 2nd half substitute Tolu Arokodare headed in a cross in the 77th minute to give Wolves the share of the spoils.

Russia, Ukraine each free first 390 prisoners in start of war's biggest swap

Historic Exchange Under Istanbul Agreement In the largest prisoner swap since the full-scale war began, Russia and Ukraine have each released 390 prisoners—comprising 270 military personnel and 120 civilians—as part of an overall 1,000-for-1,000 agreement negotiated during direct talks in Istanbul earlier in May. I was the same,” he said The Guardian+10The Washington Post+10The Guardian+10. But for many, the reunion came with heavy uncertainty about family members still unaccounted for.   Political Messages and Future Prospects President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hailed the swap as the only tangible outcome of the Istanbul talks and emphasized continued efforts to bring all detainees home. Hromadske The Washington PostThe Guardian. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov promised that Moscow would submit a draft peace proposal following the exchange but reiterated refusal of a ceasefire unless certain conditions were met—terms Ukraine has rejected, according to Reuters The Guardian. Former U.S. President Donald Trump, who helped push for the Istanbul negotiations, congratulated both parties via his social media platform, calling the swap a possible step toward broader peace, though no ceasefire has been agreed upon, according to Reuters and the New York Post.   Humanitarian Milestone Amid Ongoing Conflict This first phase swap underscores a rare moment of cooperation in a conflict that has otherwise deepened across Ukraine’s eastern and southern regions. While a few hundred lives have been restored to families, thousands remain in captivity, and both sides show no signs of halting hostilities. Negotiations may continue in coming days as both governments prepare for the next instalment of releases under the "1,000-for-1,000" agreement. For now, the tranche of 390 each represents the largest exchange of its kind since the war began.

Why Dembele would be a worthy Ballon d'Or winner

It is the year 2025, and the frontrunner to win the Ballon d'Or is Ousmane Dembele, forward for Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team. The road to this point has been far from smooth, but this is the end point nonetheless. PSG are the undisputed and unquestionable kings of Europe, winning the European Cup in any format for the first time in their history - a significant feat not just for a team only founded in 1970, but one for the Qatari Sports Investment project which has been hell-bent on continental domination since their takeover in 2011. Luis Enrique's side will be remembered for years to come for their tiki taka-lite style based on fluidity and slick possession football, and at the forefront of their success has been Dembele. With the Ballon d'Or now judged on a seasonal basis - as should have always been the case, thank you, France Football - it is a campaign that should end with Dembele lifting the prestigious Golden Ball in his home country.

Arsenal's title hopes fading as City do Liverpool a huge favour

Arsenal and Manchester City played out a dramatic 1-1 draw on Sunday, with the two Premier League rivals unable to be separated through 98 or so minutes. Erling Haaland had given the visitors an early lead, before Pep Guardiola remarkably decided to park the bus to try and sneak the win. Those efforts went up in smoke in added time as Gabriel Martinelli scored to clinch a point for the Gunners. Having both slipped up domestically already this season, this wasn't quite a 'must win' affair for either side, but definitely more of a 'must not lose'. In the end, perhaps a draw in which neither team showed much attacking endeavour will please both parties. City seemed content to sit in and create chances on the break, while Arsenal didn't exactly throw the kitchen sink at their visitors in order to force the leveller. It was a pretty just outcome and neither can really have any complaints about how it ended.

North Korea launches probe into warship launch accident

North Korea has begun an investigation into an accident that occurred during the launch of a new warship this week, state media said Friday, assessing the damage as "not serious". North Korea said Thursday that "a serious accident occurred" at the Wednesday launch ceremony for the newly built 5,000-ton naval destroyer, in which sections of the bottom of the vessel were crushed -- with leader Kim Jong Un calling the mishap a "criminal act".   North Korea has begun an investigation into an accident that occurred during the launch of a new warship this week, state media said Friday, assessing the damage as "not serious". High Stakes at Selhurst Park as Manchester United Face In-Form Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace Vs Manchester United Preview By: Babatunde Ajibade (Manchester United correspondent) Facebook: Babatunde Olatunji Ajibade    Twitter: ollyzjinx01          Instagram: sir_ajirowo01   Manchester United head to Selhurst Park under heavy pressure and even heavier scrutiny after a disastrous showing at Old Trafford against Everton. The boos that echoed around the stadium said it all. Losing 1–0 to a 10-man Everton side — and conceding after they went a man down — was embarrassing on every level. From the touchline to the pitch, it was shambolic. Many fans are asking the same question: How much more can the board tolerate before admitting the Amorim experiment has failed?   United have not scored against Crystal Palace in their last four meetings — and after the lifeless performance against Everton, confidence isn’t exactly flowing. Starting a match with five defenders against a team reduced to ten men was baffling. Shifting Amad into unfamiliar positions didn’t help either. The tactical confusion is becoming a weekly theme, and now they travel to a stadium where their recent record is terrible. The international break may have come at the worst possible time. United had built momentum with 11 points from five Premier League games, but that form now looks like it was papering over deeper cracks — cracks that were fully exposed on Monday night. The Red Devils are barely hanging on to a top-half spot. They’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in five straight matches and continue to struggle away from home. Their London record is even worse: 16 losses in their last 26 Premier League games in the capital — the worst of any top-flight side during that period.   A painful stat surfaced recently: Amorim: 9 wins in 35 Premier League games, Ten Hag (same period last year): 23 wins. The numbers speak for themselves. Poor in-game management. Poor structure. Poor identity. United ended the Everton defeat with 25 attempts — but scored none — while conceding from the only shot they faced. Their xG tells the same story: xG For: 20.1 → actual goals: 19 (two were own goals) Conversion rate: 10.4% — 7th worst in the league They create chances, but they can’t finish them.   Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are flying. Only Arsenal have conceded fewer Premier League goals this season. Oliver Glasner’s side sit fifth and have kept three straight clean sheets against Wolves, Brentford, and Brighton. Their defensive confidence is sky-high, and recent history backs it up: Three wins in their last four league games vs Man United (D1) Two wins in their last four at Selhurst Park vs Man United Opta supercomputer predictions  says Palace to win is 54.1% United aren’t just underdogs, they’re clear underdogs. So here we are again, asking what has become a weekly question for Manchester United supporters: Will this team finally show 90 minutes of concentration and courage or will they crumble, invite pressure, and rely on another desperate comeback attempt? Comment below with your score predictions!   Manchester United record against Crystal Palace: Games won: 41 Games drawn: 14 Games lost: 13     Team News: (As of today 29/11/2025,) Crystal Palace: Caleb Kporha, Borna Sosa, Cheick Doucoure , Chadi Riad  and Rio Cardines are out for this game. Manchester United: Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Harry Maguire are out for this game.     Prediction: United sometimes deliver when everyone has written them off, and they should have more energy than Palace. But this team has a habit of sleeping through the first half, and Selhurst Park is a brutal place for a team low on confidence. Crystal Palace 1-1 Manchester United.

EPL MATCHWEEK 35 RECAP

EPL RECAP: Leeds United defeated Burnley 3-1 to further put some distance between them and the relegation zone. The win sees Leeds extend their unbeaten streak to 6 matches which includes win against Manchester United, Wolves and Burnley along with draws against Brentford and Bournemouth. Robert Stach long range low shot gave Leeds the lead in the 6th minute. 7 minutes after the restart, Noah Okafor doubles the lead. Dominic Calvert-Lewin joined the scoring party as he added a 3rd goal in the 56th minute. Burnley pulled one back through Tchaouna in the 71st minute and the score line stated that way till the end of the game. The win sees Leeds get to 43 points which should all but secure their safety.           Arsenal put in a commanding and assured display beating Fulham 3-0. A Viktor Gyokores double along with a low Bukayo Saka finish was all it took. Arsenal started on the front foot and took the lead when Saka's low cross across goal was turned in by Gyokores. Gyokores returned the favour after running through on goal before cutting back and squaring a pass to Bukayo Saka who shot it past former Arsenal goalie Bernd Leno. Gyokores made it 3 after a wonderful run and cross by Leandro Trossard to give Arsenal a 3-0 lead into half time. Arsenal were comfortable controlling the game and not exert too much strength since they'll be hosting Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. The win sees Arsenal gain a 6 points lead over Manchester City as well as a +4 Goal difference. Newcastle bounced back to winning ways as they beat Brighton 3-2 at St. James Park. Goals from in-form striker William Osula after a Verbruggen mistake, an header by Dan Burn from a Bruno Guimares corner as well as a wonderfully struck shot by Harry Barnes after another mistake by the Brighton goalie. Jack Hinshelwood got a goal back for Brighton. Sunderland and basement team Wolverampton Wandered played out a drab 1-1 draw. Mukiele rose highest to head home a Granit Xhaka corner before Santiago Bueno strike restored parity. Dan Ballard was sent off for pulling Toku Arokodare's hair.           Brentord put more misery on West Ham after beating the Hammers 3-0. A Mavropanos own goal set the tone for the gloom to West Ham. Brentford were awarded a penalty after Micheal Kayode was fouled, Igor Thiago dispatched the penalty for his 22nd goal of the Premier League before Mikel Damsgaard slotted home the 3rd goal. The win sees Brentford rise to 6th on the table. Manchester United and Liverpool served up an absolutely wonderful display of football at Old Trafford as United beat Liverpool 3-2. Two goals in the first 14 minutes from Cunha and Benjamin Sesko gave United a 2 goals lead into half time. Liverpool scored early in the 2nd half through Dominick Szoboslai who went on a mazy run before slotting last Lammens in goal. Cody Gakpo equalized for Liverpool 9 minutes after to tie the game. Kobbie Mainoo who signed a new deal on Thursday scored the winning goal in the 77th minute which meant Micheal Carrick has beaten all the teams in the top 5 since been appointed interim manager in January.            Bournemouth extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 15 games after beating Crystal Palace 3-0 to move up to 6th on the table. Goals from Junior Kroupi and Brazilian youngster Rayan along with an Own goal from former player Jefferson Lerma gave The Cherries the win. Tottenham Hotspur put in an absolutely wonderful Pressing display as they beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park. It was a display that has not been seen from Spurs all season as they struggled Aston Villa who didn't have a single shot in the first half. Goals from Connor Gallagher and Richarlison helped them to a 2-0 at half time and Villa couldn't pull one back till the 96th minute through Emilliano Buendia. The loss means that Aston Villa wouldn't be able to take advantage of Liverpool's loss to United to go up to 4th.           It was a game filled with drama, intrigue and of course, Late goals. Manchester City took on Everton at the Hill Dickinson stadium and it ended in a 3-3 draw and the match was definitely one of the best of the season. City took the lead through a wonderful Jeremy Doku well placed shot. Everton hardly threatened until David Moyes brought in Thierry Barry for Beto and he put a lot of pressure on City's defence. Barry pounced on an errant Marc Guehi back pass to slot past Donarunma before Jack O'brien. Illman Ndiaye had many opportunities to score but couldn't get past Donarunma. Barry then turned in Rohl's low shot past Donarunma to give Everton a 3-1 lead. Manchester City scored straight from the restart as Erling Haaland was put through on goal and chipped the ball past an in rushing Jordan Pickford. Then on the 95th minute, Jeremy Doku fired an unstoppable shot into the Everton net for his second goal of the game to secure a draw for City. The result sees City failing to close down the points gap between them and Arsenal. Chelsea bad run of form continued as Nottingham Forest came into Stamford Bridge and beat them 3-1. Forest took a 2 minutes lead after Nigerian Striker Taiwo Awoniyi was allowed to head home a free header. Malo Gusto then fouled Awoniyi and Nottingham Forest were awarded a penalty which Igor Jesus expertly dispatched. Chelsea were awarded a penalty for a foul on debutant Jason Derry but Cole Palmer couldn't score past Matt Sels. Awoniyi doubles his goals after scoring in the 52nd minute. Chelsea pulled one back through Joao Pedro in the 93rd minute with an exquisite overhead kick. The result sees Nottingham Forest extend their lead over the relegation spots to 9 points and see Chelsea in danger of slipping into thr bottom 10.

EPL RECAP: West Ham trashed Wolves 4-0 at the London Stadium. 2 goals each from Mavropanos and Taty Castellanos gave The Hammers the all important win which moved West Ham out of the relegation zone and pushed Tottenham Hotspur into relegation place. Mavropanos gave West Ham the lead heading home a Jared Bowen corner to give them a 2-0 lead going into half time. A quick fire double from Castellanos early in the 2nd half before Mavropanos added another one for the emphatic win. It is starting to look like a case of unfortunate deja vu for Arsenal in the title raise after losing 2-1 to Bournemouth in the title run-in at The Emirate in the early afternoon kick-off. Bournemouth took the lead through Junior Kroupi in the first half as he bacem the 2nd teenager to score 10 goals or more in their debut EPL season. Arsenal equalized in the 35th minute through a Viktor Gyokores penalty. Arsenal made a triple substitution early in the second half but it was Bournemouth who scored again through Alex Scott in the 75th minute which turned out to be the winning goal. Bournemouth also beat Arsenal at the Emirate last season.           Brentford and Everton played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the GTeçh Community Stadium. Igor Thiago scored his 20th goal of the season from the penalty spot in the 3rd minute before another Brazilian striker Beto equalized for Everton. Igor scored again in the 2nd half for his 21st goal of the season before Kiernan Dewsburry-Hall's stoppage time goal restored parity for Everton. Brighton beat Burnley 2-0 thanks to a Mats Wieffer double. The result further condemned Burnley into relegation. Rio Ngumoha became Liverpool's youngest Premier League scorer when he scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool at A field as Liverpool beat Fulham 2-0 to further cement their hold into 5th place which is the last UCL qualification slot in England. Mohammed Salah was also among the goal scorers as his 108th Premier League goal for Liverpool at A field was enough to give Liverpool the much needed win.            Manchester City thrashed Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford bridge to close the point between them and Arsenal to 6 points after Arsenal's loss to Bournemouth I Saturday. It was a goaless first half as neither teams could convert the numerous chances in the half. On resumption of the second half, two goals in 6 minutes and 20 seconds from Nico O'Reilly and January signing Marc Guehi gave City a 2 goals lead before Felipe Caicedo lost the ball in front of the box which allowed Doku to stroll into the box and bury the ball past Roberto Sanchez. The win makes next week game against Arsenal at The Etihad an all important game for City. Crystal Palace came from a goal down to defeat Newcastle at Selhurst Park. William Osula gave Newcastle a first half lead but the substitution of Jean-Phillipe Mateta changes the game for Palace as he converted a penalty in the 80th minute before scoring the winner in the 94th minute. Aston Villa drew against Nottingham Forest to tie Manchester United on 55 points but remain in 4th position due to an inferior goal difference. Nottingham Forest's Murillo scored an Own goal to give Villa an early lead before Neco Williams restored parity. Both team couldn't score again and the game finished in a draw.            Tottenham Hotspur's bad form continued after losing 1-0 to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light to stay rooted in the relegation spot, 2 points away from safety. The loss means that Spurs have not a Premier League family in 2026 and to compound their woes, club captain Christian Romero left the game with an apparent injury which is going to be a big blow for Roberto De Zerbi's plan as he might be losing his best defender for the remainder of the season. Leeds United defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford for their first win there since 1981 and the win sees them get 6 points away from relegation. Leeds took an early lead when Noah Okafor slotted in a wonderful cross. Okafor doubles Leeds lead midway through the 1st half and gave Leeds a 2 goals lead heading into the half. In the 2nd half, Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez was sent off from violent conduct after pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin's ponytail. Casemiro pulled one back for Manchester United after heading home Bruno's cross. The loss sees United remain 3rd on the table, equal on points with Aston Villa but ahead due to a better goal difference.
